It worked!

Mom is so surprised and happy that I'm awake so early (for the first time in YEARS) that she forgot all about my staying up until 3 am this morning.

Whoopee!

Aha, now I'm going back to sleep. =P

Song of the Day:

"Habanera - Some centuries-old dead composer"

I'm in classical mood, so there.

Hahas!

"Wa!"
"What?"
"Mom is up so early! It's a miracle! First time I see!"
"=.= I normally get up at this time la. This is the first YOU woke up so early, that's why la..."
"Oh. Yeah. Heheh."

*blush*

I woke today around 9.30 and couldn't go back to sleep.
Sucks. I love my sleep.
(Maybe it's because she caught me on the comp at 3 am and I was too scared to see what she said. Waking up early will cancel out my sin of sleeping late, maybe? Lol.)

Anyway mom just offered to buy me Starbucks for breakfast as a treat!
And I cannot believe I just said no.

"What do you want to eat for breakfast?"
"Dunno..."
"I have an idea! =D"
"What?"
"Starbucks! Hahaha!"
"OKAY! Er, better not la...got sore throat..."
"Aw, and I wanted to give you a treat."
"Ok! Tonight la! Er, I'll drink lots and lots and lots of water!"
"See first la!"

ZOMG.
Mom just asked to go down and watch Bleach with her.
Is this like, bonding time or what?
Whatever! I'm not complaining!

I accidentally ponteng-ed today ^^

Not that I'm complaining.

Teknik menjawab Chem was supposed to be from 12-1.30 pm, but today teacher announced that it was 1-2.30 pm. -.-

And I forgot to call the driver to come later because we had SUCH an INTRIGUING add maths lesson that lasted 2 FREAKING HOURS!

And you know what?
I'm not a bit ashamed to say that...I...kinda...enjoyed it.

Teacher was going at bullet train speed, and I think I pay more attention this way. =.=

I remember trying my best to follow the lesson earlier in the year, and she was sooo freaking slowwwwwww I just lost interest half-way through. -.-;

So this way, it's all good. =)

***

Ahahaha! Today someone asked me and a few others to go watch a movie with her, er-hem, boy (comma) friend (full stop.)

LAMP-POSTING! AGAIN!

I don't know whether to be amused or agitated. XD
But I simply cannot resist a free movie!
(Pleeeeease let it be the Simpsons oh pleasepleaseplease!)

Yes! I have decided I will come with you!
^^ I only hope you will extend the same favour to me, as and when I am ready to be stuck in the same situation.

Bwahahaha!
(And yes, I DO tend to misinterpret and exaggerate things occasionally. Oh ok, quite often. Ok FINE! All the time, then. Hmph.)

Screwed up

...sense of priorities!

Yesterday Jun asked me and B to go cc and DotA after school.
Without hesitation I was like YESYESYES!

B was like...I'm not sure...got tuition...trials in 2 weeks...
And being the thuoghtless being that I am, I harassed her until I'm pretty sure she wanted to strangle me.

I came to my senses 2 hours later - as if mom's actually going to let me go DotA on such short notice AND without studying at all - and stopped bugging her.

But but but...I really wanna play!

I don't know what's wrong with me. Exams are in less than 2 weeks, and I haven't really studied yet.

'Tomorrow' seems to be my best friend.

I realise that trials are important because say, if I get run over during SPM or something, I can use my trial results to apply to college.

And I realise SPM is supposedly important for OUR FUTURE.
NO SPM NO FUTURE.

Or so they say.
People have been asking me:

"SPM, scared or not?"
"Scared for what?"
"For your future la!"
"Er, not really..."
"..."

Everywhere, people are already studying like SPM's tomorrow, but I'm still unfazed.
And I have stopped thinking that this is a good thing.

Maybe I should've gone for that motivational course after all.
I think it's motivation I lack.

FAQs (f-ack!)

Why do I want to score straight As?
Because people want me to.

I'm not really interested.

Why are straight As so important?
Because I need good results to apply to college.

Art courses only require 3 credits (Cs) including English. I think that's a done deal, please you forgive my cockiness.

Why does mom want me to get straight As?
So that I can show off to the world that I am, indeed a smart person.

But I don't want to. If I have to study THAT hard, it proves I'm not smart at all, am I? And what do SPM results mean to me? Nothing much. It's after all, just a sheet of paper that proves I've gotten past the ridiculous (and suspiciously biased) education system.

Studying versus Lazing around

Winner: Lazing around! Duh!

Studying versus Playing DotA

Winner: DotA! Duh!

Studying versus Rereading old storybooks that I've read more than 10 times already

Winner: Reading! Duh!

Ok ok fineeeeeeeeee...I have to buck up if I want to do well. (If only to strike a blow against those evil money-making tuition centers!)

(Try and) Motivate me, anyone?

Title-lessness

Today Pn NOliza decided to sit at the back of the class to make sure that we paid attention and DID NOT TALK during her class.

Probably she caught sight of us scampering back to our assigned seats (you'd think we were primary students, for her to do that - but we probably behaved accordingly,) - grabbing Maths text books (the lesson during which I spent my time chitchatting,) calculators, sweaters, water bottles and pencils boxes.

Or maybe that's just me.

It was probably quite obvious that we had been sitting with our own cliques and ignoring the poor Maths teacher - maybe 3 people paid attention to her? - therefore she stood, tall and ferocious and the back of the classroom, to make sure we weren't huddled together in giggles or anything of the sort.

However, this plan failed miserably as - determined we were, to be indisciplined - the students fell asleep over their desks, eyes shut peacefully, mouth agape, no doubt dreaming about everywhere they could be but here.

Or maybe that's just me.

(I still wonder whether she knew I was fast asleep. Maybe she thought I was laying my head down upon my arms to gather concentration on the deeply boring lesson ahead - but who knows?)

***

For the first time in years, I received a pat on my head. =.=

I tell you, it felt mighty weird to be on the receiving end of a pat - good dog! - instead of ruffling people's hair (poor Abigail)

But it's nice in the sense that it makes you feel all young again - like when older people used to pat you gently and assure you that everything is finnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeee, nothing to worry about!

Sigh.

Childhood days.

Oh yeah, on the dark side, my modem is malfunctioning.
On the bright side, I have figured out a way to solve the problem.
(After taking turns in jiggling the wire, banging the modem with my fist and slamming it against the desk)

Blu-tac!

It's a miracle for loose wires!
(If you don't know what blu-tac is, it's like plasticine, except it's blue. And more expensive.)

So yeah, if the wire persists in disconnecting in the middle of a DotA game...PILE ON THE BLU TAC!

Waha. I shall smother it to death.
No that's wrong.
Until it behaves itself properly.

If not, then...

=)

Kya~

I am here!
Obviously.

This morning I went hiking up a 500 metre trail in FRIM to walk a 200 metre canopy walk.
For those who don't know, a canopy walk is basically planks of wood placed on ladders suspended 30 metres above the ground.

Me? Gayat? Nooooooooooooo...

Whatever, we took 35 minutes to hike up the hill and more than an hour to come down. If you can explain how that works, please tell me. -.-

My body is totally going to ache tomorrow - was it worth all that effort? (Where are my great legs, huh?)

***

Finally I've got the pictures!

Den and I celebrated our birthdays last Sunday, and I didn't blog about it because I was too darn lazy (and had no pictures.)

6 people - Brandon, Rohan, Jun Yan, Sash, Khai and Josh stayed over on Saturday night (arriving after midnight ==)

And so, when you have friends sleeping over, it is a rule that you do not sleep before 3 am.
Ro and JY were busy DotAing - ohmygod they embody the very stereotype I hate - Ah Bengs! Grrr. But I was also being a freaking nag anyway, so I guess we annoyed each other equally.

(Omg don't run that way! Go home! Go home! Help your friend la dammit! Fucking chicken man! Don't be an asshole! Shoot him, HIM!)

As you can tell, I was already semi-sane (or semi-insane,) hence the foul language spilling from my lips endlessly.

Sorry la guys.
Sorry!
Sorry!
Sorry!

Khai and Brandon were entertaining themselves with DSLs, and Sash fell asleep on Brandon's lap. Ahaha!

"Eh, how are you gonna get up later?"
"...Dunno."

Slowly, Brandon picked Sash's head up and tried to get up whilst holding the DSL.

"Nnnngrgh?"

Sash woke up... and had a WTF face. Like how the hell did she fall asleep on someone's lap? She was sitting crossed-legged and her body was folded parallel to her legs. o_O Don't ask me, I'd get a backache too.

Plus, Khai fell asleep on the bed diagonally. So the 2 boys had no place to sleep. I mean, they eventually had to move him, but yeah, he was snoring (didn't I tell you that Khai? Lol) and it was kinda scary.

I slept at 4 am.

***

And was woken up the the sounds of Khai plugging in his DSL to charge.

-.-

And being the super geek that I am, I played a game of DotA (at 8 freaking am!) and got a sweet first blood by attacking normally. I didn't even KNOW I was shooting that fella, ok? Suddenly only...Haru pawned first blood. (Yup, changed name again)

Luna: ?
Mirana: ...
Luna: LOL
Mirana: nothing to say...
Luna: everyone still asleep i think...
Mirana: yeah...

Then I went back to sleep at 9.20 and was woken up by Khai at 10 am.
Swee! He's my personal alarm clock, haha!

We then tried (and failed) to wake the others up.

Transformers was at 12.
Therefore, we had to collect the tickets at 11.15 am.
So I told them we were leaving at 10.45.
By 10.30 they were sitting in the hall chatting and/or looking dazed.

To make a long story short, I lost my temper (silently) and left first to collect the tickets which I BOOKED and not BOUGHT.

I snapped at Brandon on the phone and hung up on him.
I threw a mini-tantrum in the car.
I ignored the others when they DID turn up at Times Square - at 11.40.
I gave the guilty ones the side seats and snagged the more central ones for Sash, Jonathan, Laksh and myself. (Now I feel so bad about that. -.- Hissy fit still in progress.)

But now I have put it down to lack of sleep.
4 hours? COME ON!

Sorry to each and every one of you for being such a bitchy host. *hangs head*

Brandon Sash Myself

"Hey, do you know anywhere here...that sells soft toys?"
"Eh..."
"...?"
"Dunno. I don't really go around shopping for soft toys you know?"
"Ok...nevermind...eh meet you guys later la. We go walk first."
"Kay."

*leaves*

"...What does he want soft toys for? Hahaha!"
"Haha...no idea. For Denise?"
"Ya hor, probably. But you'd think Joshua would get her present what...not the little brother."
"Hmm."
"For himself? To cuddle at night? Ahahaha so cute!"
"Omg yeah!"

And we both crack up like drug addicts. (Lakshmi didn't say anything.)
We went to the arcade.

***

Brandon DID get me my cookies! Yessssss! (I had almost given up hope of that happening)

And I learnt that he was looking for Patrick for me. T.T So touched! Patrick is this red dog soft toy I've been wanting ever since I saw JL's one back in Standard THREE. But no one wanted to get me one, and it wouldn't mean anything if I bought it for myself. o_O

Denden told him to find it for me even after I told her not to (he got me my cookies already, after all)

Anyway, PICS! (Very few though)

As an act-kiut after thought, I asked mom whether they could put a smiley face on my Oreo cheesecake - they said no problem, sure!

Then Den wanted her double-tongued smiley monsterrrrr!
But the tongues were too long (ew) and so they were falling off the cake (Chocolate Fudge)...

Me, mom and Den. (Blur la. -.-)

This is the only pic (out of five) that has me and Den looking.
It is the pic that has only Den and I looking.

My mom's sisters + cousins + little potato Chloe! (I can't seem to keep a straight face la...)

My friends! (Zomg attack of the unforgivable flash ==)

Sister Sabrina, Lulu, B, Fuzzy, Me, Waterfish and Kedondong Yi Ling.
(A tongue piercing would probably be a good investment...)

Den + friends = Energizer bunnies! (Can't stop moving at all)

Anyway, I thought it was pretty funny that JY tried to bathe numerous but kept getting interrupted.

I was directing a family friend to the bathroom and there he was standing in Den's room with his shirt off.

"Oh hello!"
"Bathe dy?" (He told me he was going to quite a while ago)
"No. Do I look like...?" *gestures at himself who was not wet*
"...Ah. Oh yeah, aunty Fran's coming this way!" *suddenly remembers*
"HA? What??"
"Hahahaha!"

Aunty Fran is to our yearly camp like what Puan Siva is to CBN - a disciplinarian!
Thoroughly scary! Eee @.@

"??? Hello! What are you doing?"
"Er...going to bathe..."
"Ahahaha! I'm just using the toilet, if you don't mind."
"..."
"Lol!"

She walks into the bathroom. Then I hear my friends coming up the stairs. I quickly hop off the bed, out the door and shut it behind me. I mean, you don't normally walk around like that around strangers, right?

"Steph. Why is there a half-naked guy in there?" Asks Fuzzy innocently.
"...bathing..."
"Ahh..." Knowing nod.
*grits teeth*

I think after that he gave on trying to take a bath - people kept walking in and out of the room. (Should've thought about changing in the toilet and not in the open, right? ==) So he put his shirt back on and I thought that was the end of that.

Half an hour later.

3 of my friends coming running.

"Steph!! Steph!"
"Yeah?"
"Why is there...why is there...a half-naked guy in the room??!!"

*shocked/horrified faces*

I rub my nose in half-annoyance, half-amusement.
(God, why can't he just go and BATHE already? and Aiyo never see a topless guy before is it?)

Anyway, due to my friends' extreme reactions, I called him a stripper for the rest of the night.
(Pretty childish, but my mind was hazy from exhaution, see?)

But lol. He should be proud to make so many girls flustered.
(Yeeeee my friends so cute la! Like small kids nia!)

Presents!

Of course, the best of all would be my iPod from mommy, but that wasn't from that night, so it doesn't count.

I would say the cookies were awesome (since I asked for them) and the Ferrero Rocher (ALWAYS welcome!)

But that would make seem too food-obsessed, would it not?

Lots of people bought me earrings! Nice.
And Ro and Laksh got me a thick Warcraft book. And then I start to wonder exactly how geeky I appear to others (oh gosh, the endless DotA-babble must drive people nuts!)

My cousin got me a gorgeous book on The Sky. Actually it's a giant collection of professional photographs...very super nice! (Yi Ling will want to see it, definitely!) Must've cost a bomb...

I got this giant blue stone necklace the makes me feel like...Pebbles from the flintstones. Mommy's gonna wear it on my behalf. ^^

There are some others too, but I'll update later with pictures.
I need to sleep already...0028 hours and school tomorrow.

Hope this keeps you guys occupied for now! =P

Bra size o_O

LOL! Read this.

So guys ARE clueless about how to measure bra size, (most, I think - Khai says he's a Z-cup, no comment -.-) but don't worry! Some of my girl friends are too, haha.

Some say that there are alphabets only - A, B, C, D etc.
Some say there are numbers only - 32, 34, 70, 75 etc.

B said that one of her guy friends can look on a girl on a beach and say something like:

"That's a 44!"

Well, Barbie's measurements are said to be equivalent to 39-21-33 (I looked it up,) so 44's a bit huge, don't you think?

So anyway, I learnt how to measure cup size from a tweenage story book I borrowed from Sunshine in a fit of total boredom.

It's amazing what these chicklits teach you.

So, you take a measuring tape and measure in inches:

#1. Where the breast meets the body
#2. The widest circumference of your chest

Then you take measurement #1 and if it is an:

Odd number: You add 5 inches
Even number: You add 4 inches

After that, you take measurement #2 and subtract measurement #1 (after adding 4/5inches) and refer to the chart below.

Measurement #2 - Measurement #1

< 1 inch: AA
2 inches: A
3 inches: B
4 inches: C etc.

(For every inch, you go up a cup size)

So, for example, your measurement #1 is 34 inches (breast to body,) you add 4 inches, and you get 38.

Your measurement #2 (widest circumference of chest) is 44 inches (like the girl on the beach)

So, 44 - 38 = 6

Therefore, you are an E/DD cup!
(Omg, I picked really awful sample measurements. -.-)

See? It's so easy!

So, bra cup size normally goes with a number in front, and an alphabet in the back, like:

32B, which is equivalent to 75B

32 the measurement of where breast meets body, in inches; whereas 75 is in cm.
B refers to the cup size.

Easy right?

So, contrary to popular belief, fat girls don't always have a big cup size, and vice versa.
Understand or not?

If you still don't understand, come and ask me yourself. Lazy to type out any more lah.

So girls, happy measuring!
(Remember, you can buy a C cup and make yourself happy, but you can't fool the measuring tape!)

Song of the Day:

"Over It - Katharine McPhee"

I just heard it on TV.
