Today we went to Bribie Island.

Had a barbecue picnic - checkered beach mats, straw hats, radio and the works!
We also went kayaking, which I suck at cause we went round in circles. Harhar.

At one point, Den, Candy, Lydia, Rainer and I had to row out to a little sand island about 200 meters from the shore. Rainer was swimming along behind, so there wre FOUR of us on that little plastic boat.

AHAHA.
What a miracle it didn't capsize. Or maybe not. I'm not exactly the queen of Physics and buoyancy and whatnot.

But in any case, the kayak was too heavy to row, so I volunteered to jump out and swim along.
Besides, the weather was hot and the water was cool and inviting.

So jump out I did.-
At first it was fun to paddle along behind the kayak, with one hand holding on to the strap.
I wish I could've just floated alongside the boat without doing anything else, but unfortunately I had to kick as well or I'd have been dead weight for the poor kayak.

My thighs ache now. -_-

Anyway, I had forgotten that I'd let my sis and cousin have the 2 lifejackets - only remembering when I accidentally released the strap to shift my grip. 100 meters out to sea. WTF!

What seemed like a slow and leisurely pace at which the kayak was travelling now seemed like a motorboat to me. I paddled quickly for a couple of seconds before deciding there was no way to catch up. So I shouted for help instead.

AHAHAH!

I was so inclined to panic.
100 meters from the shore and roughly another 100 to the sand island.
I couldn't paddle that far in a swimming pool, let alone the sea. And besides, I was already tired from all that kicking.
Not to mention that the absence of the lifejacket being extremely obvious all of a sudden.

But no la! I cannot panic -_-

I mean, that boat was only a few meters away and Rainer was somewhere in the water around me anyway so there was a very very very small chance of drowning. AND I CAN SWIM ONE LA DAMMIT!

But when you suddenly lose hold on what kept you so secure and relaxed - shock set in x_x

Anyway, I floated on my back for a while until they realised I was missing and turned around to pick me up. -_- And so I loved for another day. Yay.

Oh YEA! We saw SOLDIER CRABS!
*beams*

Hundreds, maybe thousands of them, tiny crabs the size of a 20 sen coin scuttling along the sand like a swarm of red ants. You can actually hear them marching along. O_o

Anyway, they can dig REALLY fast!
I was chasing a whole group of them when I got distracted and looked somewhere else for only two seconds - I swear! - and they were all gone! With only countless little burrows as evidence of their presence.

Wah.

Lydia and Andrew were fishing with a net and they caught a lot of tiny little fish and a few big ones. A poisonous one at one point, so it was released.

Andrew carried one all the way back just to show his mom and we all thought it was dead.
But it kinda gave a weak flop of its tail so he went to put it back into the water.

I tagged along with the camera, videoing the released of the survivor.
However, after 1 minute and 40 seconds into the video and witnessing nothing but a fish floating listlessly in the water...

Sadly, I shut off the cam and turned around to fetch my slippers to rinse in the sea water (there was mud and seaweed EVERYWHERE it was disgusting!) and when I turned back to look in the sea, the fish was GONE!

WTF!

SO PANDAI PLAY DEAD MEH?

CHEEPET!

I guess the fish lived to see another day too. x_x

Either that, or a seagull ate it.
No one will ever know.

Back on Track

Besides Den graduating with 2nd class upper honours (WOWOWO congratz!) I have received my response for RMIT within LESS than a week from applying.

Beats the 4 or 5 months or so I spent waiting after submitting it through Taylor's.
Go IDP, people.

Movie World

Today we went to Movie World.
(I think the title pretty much makes the point of this post clear.)

Anyway...ROLLER COASTERS!
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

The first roller coaster I remember riding when I was a kid was Sunway's Runaway Train at the tender age of 7.

I don't remember being terrified, but I never rode a roller coaster again since then.
It took me 2 visits to Times Square's Cosmo's World to even work up the guts to sit the roller coaster there.

I'm not exactly a thrillseeker, as you can see.

The first time I sat that, I sat it with my eyes tightly shut - not that I could see anything with them open anyway; I had no contacts back then - and my hands clutching the handle and my friend's hand respectively.

Never uttered a sound throughout the whole experience.
It was a terrifying couple of minutes that filled my ears with the screams of strangers and occasional whirls of colours as I dared a squint every now and then.

Oh, how I have progressed!

Today was AWESOME!

Rode the 6 main coasters of Movie World by 4pm, when it started to rain. Talk about good timing!

I felt a bit uncomfortable when I saw the Superman coaster - a near vertical forward drop at roughly a hundred meters above the ground. Furthermore, it propels you from 0 to a hundred km per hour in a mere 2 seconds.

But I was determined to not chicken out and sit EVERY major coaster thez had a movie world.

I think Disneyland nearly ridded me of my roller-coaster phobia completely. The whole place was so happy and fantasy-like that you COULDN'T get scared if you wanted to - and the riders weren't very extreme anyway.

So yea, I went for the Superman ride, screamed, laughed, survived and bought a T-shirt to boot.
Yay.

Felt so GOOD and INVINCIBLE after that.
AHAHHA. Solame.

But I wasn't scared at ALL during the ride. It was just FUNFUNFUN!

I took me a while to work up the nerve to ride Lethal Weapon.
That shit LOOKED so intimidating - like an enormous grey skeleton twisting into the sky.
Wowo.

Furthermore, the ride leaves your legs dangling and you spend half of it twisting and turning and generally being in a topsy-turvy state.

If you know well enough, you'd know that I don't like:

1. Heights
2. Emptiness below my feet
3. Being upside down

So I found it GREAT that I wasn't scared at ALL!
I walked away slightly disoriented but otherwise unaffected (my head got banged up pretty good during those midair twists.)

But perhaps I have to thank the guy behind me.
He made me laugh throughout the ENTIRE RIDE.

Dude was wailing and screaming like a baby terrified for his life.
AHAHAH!

AHHH! AHHH! AHHHHHHHHHH! AH AH AH AH AHHHH!

Walaowei. I was screaming initially but I soon dissolved into laughter and laughed my way through the ride. -_-

Amazing.

I am now ready for more extreme rides!

Wet n Wild!

Today we visited the first of the three theme parks we had included in our itinerary: Wet 'n' Wild Water Park.

Needless to say, it was awesome fun and no, I don't think I got even a bit tan (will check in proper light tomorrow) thanks to repeated slatherings of sunscreen. Repeat: skin cancer is NOT your friend!

Anyway, I was looking out for those hot guys and girls and what I found is that they are rarer than I thought.

Girls with big boobs have big tummies to accompany them and the guys...need I remind you that I like Asian guys? LOL. The only ones I really looked at are Asian or at least half.

But of course got a lot of lengluis and lengzais la - just not my taste.
Anyhow I got several mouth- or nostrils-full of dirty water thanks to the ginormous splashes we made at the end of each ride.

Also, the layers of sunscreen tended to wear off after repeated dunkings, so it was kinda awful seeing us dripping milky white liquids off our bodies after each ride. -_-
And I lost track how many times my skirt got wedged up my ass after a ride. "§/T&"($%§U$§$&"(/

OMG I ATE AND ATE.
Until I felt so awfully bloated. (I'm sorry, but this is information I feel like sharing tpday.)
So my tummy was nice and round. NO! Don't tell me 'shuddup you're skinny you don't have a tummy bitch!'

Hello from Oz!

I'm sure no one really misses me yet (T_T) but hello anyway!

Today is my 3rd day in Brisbane and I'm using my cousin's 8-inch laptop - German, so the keys are all in different places and I actually have to look at the keyboard as I type.

Anyway, I plan to put on 1 kg a week while I'm here. GOOD FOOD YUMYUM!

Besides, I've jsut discovered the joy of lamingtons - I used to see them at delis at home but the people who work there had no idea what they were and I didn't really have the interest to try something as ominous looking as a lemon lamington - bright yellow, jelly-like and covered in coconut flakes.

However I discovered that it's just a sponge cake with a thin layer of icing and the coconut flakes really give it that extra kick - MUST TRY! Although I have no idea if it's any good at all back home. -_-

I tied my first cherry-stem knot with my lips and tongue yesterday!
WOWO! Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple. :D

Today, I attempted climbing a tree for the first time and er, descended rather aburptly.
No matter, it was only 6 feet in the air and all I got were scrapes on my arms and knees and a short gash across the top of my foot. D:

Ahhhhh I really love being here. Weather is awesome, not to mention the huge selection of junk food and just food in general...fresh fruits and the scenery. MMMMMMM.

It'll be a repeat of the last time I came to Oz - NEVER WANNA GO HOME!

Miraculously, I don't even miss DotA or CS - YET!

I don't know if ths is because I had a really fun gaming session the night before I left, or if it's because the notion of lying on my back reading a book on a trampoline under a tree in the garden appeals more to me then the ergonomic stress that comes from gaming.

Though I got mosquito bites aplenty from doing that. -_-
Yes, there are mosquitos in Brisbane, which I didn't expect - but really should have, seeing it's summer and all. It's just that the last two times I was in Melbourne, there were absolutely no bugs at ALL. NO ANTS HOHOHO!

Tomorrow we're off to Wet 'n' Wild - a wet park something like Sunway Lagoon, only BETTER!

My 2nd cousin's house is awesome. Didn't really like the shoes-on concept for downstairs initially, but I may consider being an illegal immigrant and staying here forever if I could.

Not that anyone'd miss me much back home anyway. Except mom, maybe. And if I'm lucky, my dogs...?

Now the idea of staying in Melbourne is even more attractive than before.
Sigh.

There's really nothing left back for me in Malaysia.
Perhaps, again, mom and dogs.

But apart from that, there's really nothing holding me back.
No particularly fond memories, no attachment to local food and culture, no boyfriend, no, nothing really.

It just seems so easy to be a traitor to my country and run off here and disown my tanah air.
Sure, there are a few (very few) people begging me not to leave, to stay - 'what's WRONG with local education?'

WELL, I thought that after 11 years of local ed, they'd know EXACTLY what's wrong with it. -_-

I was wrong to be hesistant about leaving Malaysia.
Well, I don't miss it yet, and if history repeats itself, I still won't miss it after 3 weeks.
The last time I came to Aussie, I didn't want to leave at all.

Maybe that's why I refuse to attach to many people back 'home' - it's almost as if I'm disallowing myself from growing roots to hold me back from coming here.

People still ask me why I don't keep in touch with friends, why am I not dating boy seriously.
Just that it'd be such a shame to leave them behind when I go - I can't expect them to be so obliging as to follow me wherever I choose to go.

I can't wait to put on some weight here.
Tan myself and grow my hair out.

I love how they leave gates wide open here - it feels so safe and peaceful.

Of course, no one can completely leave their history behind.
It seems that Tung Herr has also applied AND has been accepted (that bitch!) into RMIT as well and has already requested that I book the same flight to Melbourne so that he won't be stranded all alone in this strange country.

Luckily I have my sister. Two reasons:

1. I won't be alone here.
2. I was able to refuse himm directly WITH a valid reason when he asked me to go apartment-hunting together. *shudder*

Apparently, Julian has also applied for RMIT.
Well, at least this is a piece of my past that I actually like.

It'd be even better if Viv, Ling and JL came too.
But I guess they won't be coming. D:

Most of my DotA/CS friends don't want me to go because that's what I am to them as well - another gaming kaki. Hell, I'd miss them too, but not for long. I'm sure I'll find new gamers here what with the Msian and Aussie connection being incompatible and they'll forget me soon enough.

Oh, one of the things that amused me is Mona's apparently hate for Melbourne.
Apparently, it stole the girl he loved away when SHE went to uni and if he has anything to do with that city now, it'd be to fly in, shit on the ground and fly straight back to Malaysia. (His words! I'm not that unimaginative, nyahahaha)

And I don't think my leaving is making it much better by the way it seems to be dredging up awful memories for him. TOO BAD! I said. Ahahaha.

I'd also stay to study another year with Viv, if it weren't for the time and money wasted - that will always be the case in life. Take the fastest and cheapest way out.

Besides that, I don't think anyone has really asked me to stay, just that they'd miss me when I'm gone. And even so, I detect a hint of insincerity in those words. Maybe they can convince themselves they WOULD miss me, but I know better.

Would'nt it be funny that after all these thoughts, that my application be rejected and I'd have to stay in Malaysia indefinitely after all?

Just got back from Subang.

Jaykay fetched me and Mona to Ftz. We had dinner at the mamak near my place first and I we saw Mona's weak stomach in action for the first time - we had to let him out at McDonalds so he could rush to the toilet and throw up.

The poor boy is so skinny it pains me. x_x

Summore he was shivering in the cinema, and Jaykay laughed when I offered him my sweater. -_-

I started to get cold after that and I guess he noticed cause he took it off and I hastily grabbed it back.

Almost fell asleep halfway through - too much talk, too little action. But overall it was okay la, the knuckle-smashing part was awful.

Well actually, I was going to leave but either Max and Yun helped me on my way and kicked me - along with deleting the history of X|MoD and erasing our ex-clan lord from its memories altogether.

If I were him, I'd let them have the clan and take all its founding members with me, sans Max.

Max had absolutely no right to steal the clan - it was Arief's pride and joy (oh god, cheesy but true, unforunately) and it was most of the other members' efforts that the clan had gained a small reputation around.

Basically, most of its life was sucked out like a vampire draining blood from its victim when Nick broke off and formed -Tw3-. As I said, he took a number of vital members from there, and with them, -Tw3- has already gained quite a reputation for itself.

In comparison, X|MoD has wilted noticeably without the presence of its leader and most of the active members. What was left was a dry husk - a sorry excuse of what used to be a 'family' - as ArieftheCorny says.

I mean, clan lord is gone, the noisy members are gone, the organisers and basically most people of rank were MIA - either studying or having exams or even taking a hiatus from DotA.

What remains is Max and his girlfriend - flirting disgustingly on a daily basis - and a few other people who are so retarded I cannot begin to describe it. Or maybe I can.

In fact, I'm glad this happened.

Arief doesn't have to worry about clan fights between him and Nick anymore, and now I can freely join any clan I want without him acting all heartbroken and shit.
