I LOVE MY JOB!

Yesterday, my sis and I went to Astro with Eric, who had to 'service' the radio stations...deliver CDs and whatnot.

So, the people we met:

DJs Non, Pietro, Serena C, J. Lo, the Jakeman and Skeletor.

Like whoa.
They're all so cool! =D

And I am seriously freaked out by the Jakeman. He is so, so tall and intimidating. T.T

Anyway, what we learned was that for each radio station, only two people choose the songs.
TWO!
And I was thinking they had some department to analyse the songs and stuff, to see the audience's reaction.

But nooo, people like Eric just come and give them singles to listen to, and if they like it, they play it.

...

And I thought they play what the people want to hear.

But as Jason put it...

Some big shot American guy tells the record company to play a song.
The mindless drones go: 'All hail,' and proceed to push radio stations to play it.

Then when one radio station plays it, ALL of them must play it, for they cannot NOT play a hit song, for it is simply not done to be left out of the loop.

And when all radio stations play it, the song becomes 'in' and teenyboppers listen to it.

Then when they like the song, they buy CDs, then everyone makes money.

...So we are all just pawns in the chess game of the record industry.

Oh, and you people who listen music that is 'underground'?

HAH! You all were SO being manipulated. The record labels know who to target, and how to sell their products. So while you were thinking about how cool you were listening to 'unknown' artists, the record label is actually making the band appear that way, to appeal to you guys.

And they make even more money.

Suckers! =P

Anyway, today my sis drove the car up the curb while visiting Channel [V], and the tyre popped!

Yeesh.

And guess who came to help?

Yup.
Johnson Wee.
LOL!

And TL! The guy KinkyBlueFairy's friends all want to date. Hahaha!
Now I can say that a mini-celebrity and a hot guy tried to fix my car!

...and failed. Still had to send to workshop la.

Haha.

Anyway, we went to Channel [V] to watch Johnson get interviewed.
It's pretty interesting...but the studio is freaking creepy.

The wallpaper is peeling, and there are black styrofoam boards hanging EVERYWHERE, for lighting purposes. Very scary.

The interviewer dropped her notepad...and nothing else interesting happened.
Johnson spoke fluently, and get this, he wasn't even given the questions beforehand!
I'm so jealous of people who can speak well.

But he was pretty damn nervous. It's not in the frame, but he was tapping his hands and fidgeting a lot.

Now I know that even celebrities get nervous.

And why they only film half the body.

Heh.

Let me give you a summary of what I do on weekdays now:

8.30: The alarm clock goes off

9.00: I leave for work

7.30: I eat dinner
8.00: I DotA/Check email/Do online thingies
10.00: I bathe
10.30: I DotA some more
12.00: I sleep

And it goes on like that everyday.

And I fell asleep on the job on my first day. Haha.

Anyway, work is SO fun! =D

On the first day, my sis and I spent half a day cutting out pictures of singers under Warner and pasting them for filing purposes.

Then we went to a publishing place called Karangkraf and saw the editors of a few magazines.
Since I'm working under the Marketing section, the people I work for have to push the mag editors to print articles of the Warner artists.

Then she goes around hanging up posters at people's workplaces and sticking MCR stickers everywhere! =P

But for now I'm dealing with New Media, which basically is marketing CDs in any other way EXCEPT via the traditional way, which is stuff like ringtones and website freebies and stuff.

What I do is compile songs (wahahaha) make lists, and burn them. Mmhmm.

Ooh, and I got free stuff! So cool =D
Got a radio sampler, a promo apron and full-size Fort Minor poster which they didn't need already! That's 16.7% of my precious Linkin Park in there you know!

OHOHOH and Linkin Park is coming to Malaysia in March!!! ZOMG I CANNOT WAIT!

Besides that, the work atmosphere is so cool!
There's like plaques of artists stating their sales acheivements - got two Linkin Park ones (12x Platinum,) and a Fort Minor one (15k albums sold in Malaysia =D)

And also, there are TVs everywhere tuned to MTV! Cool leh?
Every desk has a huge pile (or piles) of CDs that makes me drool. T.T
And this guy who sits behind me, his workplace has a Projekt Revolution poster, a Fort Minor poster and the Collision Course promo poster.

But something I don't really like is that every single workplace plays a different album AT THE SAME TIME.

Seriously.

And they have Warner ringtones that are so, so loud that I'm getting a bit sick of Welcome To The Black Parade which is on many people's phones, as that's the band they're promoting.

Much as I love MCR, it's getting rather sickening, actually.
Oh, and MCR is probably coming to Malaysia at the end of next year! Hopefully after SPM. =(

I pushed 'play' and cranked the volume waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up, and proceeded to sit there with an angelic look on my face.

After 2 minutes of sweet serenading by Gerard, she was gone.

I KNEW that 32 bucks was worth spending.

I just spent 87 ringgit.
That is approximately 1.75 months worth of my allowance.

Gone.
Poof.
In one day.

But I'm pretty darned happy with my purchases. =)

I think I owe mom 50 bucks or something. But do I not have 500 ringgit of MY allowance in her possession right now? Hahaha, my personal ATM.


First, I went to Sungai Wang and bought MCR's new album.
I heard it was quite good, and I liked the two previous albums pretty much (downloaded Bullets and bought Three Cheers) so I wasn't too sad to part with my money.

And omg I love the album cover! The insert is also a poster on the reverse side, but I'm too lazy to snap a pic of it now. But I kinda like this guy:

Besides that, I also bought:


I LOVE FMA! Well, the manga anyway.
To further enhance my nerd factor, I confess that when I was young, I wished that I was like Ed sometimes. =P It would be so cool to be an alchemist.

I did the weirdest thing ever.
For one thing, yesterday I didn't eat anything save for a cup of Nestum for breakfast, a couple of nuggets for lunch, a packet of Ribena pastilles for tea and three sugar crackers for dinner.

Because we were in a hurry to go cyber cafe after school, I skipped lunch.
Then thinking I could have starbucks at mom's office after that, I refused Amber's offer to buy me a bun.
Then when I went mom's office around 5, she said it was too close to dinner and I can wait ma.
Then I went home at 7 and fell asleep from exhaustion.

Mom woke me up at 12.30 am.

Yish. Then I woke up at 9.30 to find that I've slept for 15 hours on an empty stomach.

Yesterday was the first Everybody's Day I went to. Yup, first time since Form 1. I'm such a loyal student, so bersemangat sekolah =D!

I swore I wouldn't sleep like I did the previous raptais...but well, I've never been a person of my word. And I had a wonderful hour of sleep! Ahh...

Then I woke up, shook hand with JunJun's dad, took my cert and went for recess.

After recess, haiyo, dunno what to say la, about the performances.

Choir did a boring rendition of 'Beauty and the Beast'. There were some people off-key as well.
Band was ok, but like tak semangated like last time. =(
Xiao Ci and Yee Won did some gymnastics, not bad, not bad at all.
Morning prefects did one loooong sketch that was pretty funny. =)

But afternoon prefects, I'm telling you, I don't know whether to laugh or to puke.
Maybe both at the same time.
The way they danced, made me feel like Shakira I tell you, they were THAT lame. -_-
But the best part was the teachers' faces when they danced to Tata Young's pop tune.

...Only they didn't take Malaysia's version, "Sexy, Naughty, Cheeky"

So it was more like:

Omgwtfhahahahahaha!! Thumbs up for their cheek. Suddenly I feel warm and fuzzy toward the afternoon prefects, just for the look on Siva's face. Muahahahaha! Good, good, excellent. =D

That said, you won't be seeing me next year at Everybody's Day, unless JL is performing. Bleh.

Hopping down the stairs happily to go and release my doggies, I miscalculated and my ankle caught on the edge of a step, and now it's swelling up like my head does when I'm complimented.

*grumble*

Suckiness:
1. I have lived in this house for almost 6 years and I can still miscalculate the distance of the steps from each other. That sucks.
2. I'm skinny enough to have my ankles jutting enough to get CAUGHT on a step and trip.

Nevertheless, I have just put on 2kg in a week. Go me!

If I keep up this eating plan I can soon wear a halter top without fear of having shoulder blades capable of collecting enough water for one day's drink should it rain.

Not that I would wear one, not with the UV around here. I mean, even my NOSE gets burnt at the beach. Now I like my nose, but it's kinda weird to walk around with a freakishly pale face with a triangular patch of peeling red skin smack-dab in the middle, right?

Today, I took a delicious hour-long snooze in the hall, while waiting to go on stage to practise curtseying -Curtseying of all things! Preposterous!- and smiling and shaking hands.

I am SO going to quit the english section if I have to go through this again next year.

Yesterday I brought my handphone to school.
I'm becoming quite a delinquent.
Yay!

What I did was turn it on silent, then turn it off and shove it into a packet of Hacks.
Then if there's a spot check, the greedy little prefects will get distracted and go:

"Ooh! Sweets!"

Instead of:

"Aha! Handphone!"

But even if they DID spot the handphone, I could always pay them off with the whole packet of Hacks. Haha, so cheap one.

So what now, yesterday snoozing in class, today bringing handphones to school...tomorrow bringing parangs to school to make the teachers give me an A for Sejarah?
